A GUIDE TO HOW THE CLUB IS ORGANISED AND RUN IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE MEMBERS

ARTICLES
1. AIMS:
1.1 To encourage development of members’ photography skills in the company of others who share their enthusiasm.
1.2. To be a friendly supportive social group for all members in which to enjoy their photography.
1.3. To appeal to all levels of photographer.
2. MEMBERSHIP:
2.1 Group membership is limited to 30 individuals, including the serving members of the Committee.
2.2 Subject to rule 2.1, membership of the group is open to any member of ACFAA
2.3 Membership is annual and granted after payment of the annual membership fee as determined by the Committee.
2.4 These rules will be available for all members to view on the group website, or as a PDF upon request.
2.5 Membership confers the right to attend all group events, meetings and to enter competitions. See separate competition entry rules on the group website – HERE
3. ADMINISTRATION:
3.1 Administration is by an elected Committee
3.2 The voting members of the Committee comprises: Head of Group, Treasurer, Competition Secretary, Programme Secretary.
3.3 The Committee is elected by the general membership present at the Annual General Meeting.
3.4 Each Committee member serves for one year.
3.5 Resignations are accepted, in which case a new Committee member is to be proposed and elected at the next available club meeting.
3.6 All Committee decisions are to be made by simple majority except in the case of a 2:2 split, in which case the Head of Group has the deciding vote.
3.7 The Committee may appoint non voting members to assist with additional administrative and organisational tasks and responsibilities.
4. COMMITTEE RESPONSIBILITIES:
4.1 Setting the annual subscription
4.2 The management of the group finances
4.3 Programme of events
4.4 Organisation and administration of competitions, exhibitions, general events, and technical and other presentations
4.5 Keeping an accurate record of the group membership
4.6 To maintain a register of group physical assets and to manage those assets for the benefit of the group.
4.7 To undertake the management and maintenance of group website(s) and social media accounts.
5. ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
5.1 Held once a year at the end of the season.
5.2 Meeting agenda to be set by the outgoing Head of Group, typically including:
5.2.1 A review of the group’s activities for the previous year
5.2.2 Ideas for forthcoming year
5.2.3 Presentation of the group finances by the Treasurer
5.2.4 Announcement of the Photographer of the Year and Best Improver.
5.2.5 The election of the Committee for the following year by open simple majority voting.
5.2.5a Each ordinary member may propose and/or second any other ordinary member or an
existing Committee member for any Committee post.
5.2.5b In the event of a tie the outgoing Head of Group has the deciding vote.
6. GENERAL
6.1 Rule changes can be made only by agreement of the full Committee, subject to 3.6 above.
6.2 Interpretation and administration of the terms of the Articles and Constitution is the responsibility of the Committee.

2.6 Members undertake that they will conduct themselves in all interactions with the group, the Committee and ACFAA in a convivial and respectful manner. The committee exclusively reserves the right to withdraw or refuse membership of the group for anyone in breach of this article.
